Hi, I'm Flo - part of Frederik's team - and since Frederik is currently experiencing Burning Man, I'm honored to create this "NEXTletter Guest Edition" for you today. I'd like to share an exciting idea that we've been exploring together for a few weeks.
When we consider the great challenges and opportunities of our time, one theme, probably also in your life, arises again and again: as humanity, we need more space for the future that feels good for us. Space to imagine new possibilities. Space to practice empathy, curiosity, optimism, and courage. Space that reminds us we’re not just reacting to what is - or to what predictions try to tell us - but actively shaping and loving what’s next.
That thought led us to a simple question: What if “Future Spirit” wasn’t just an abstract idea, but something you could actually step into, experience, and train? What if such rooms could exist everywhere in the world - physical places, but also inner spaces - open to anyone ready to explore the future more intentionally?
Together with a courageous and creative organization in Southern Germany, we are now beginning to design and build such a “Room for Future Spirit.” We’re incredibly thankful for this collaboration and excited to share more about it with you soon.
In this Guest Edition, I’ll share one question that led us, two perspectives on what a “Room for Future Spirit” could look like - and a small experiment you can try right away to create your own, and see how it shifts your life.
Because the future doesn’t need permission. It needs space.
ONE QUESTION

“If the future were a room - what would it look like?”
Would you visit a room for future spirit if it were near you? |
TWO PERSPECTIVES
1️⃣ Physical Space Imagine stepping into a room designed entirely for the future. The walls, the light, the atmosphere - everything invites you to think beyond today. It’s a place where curiosity is sparked, empathy is practiced, and optimism feels tangible. That’s what we’re creating in Southern Germany: a permanent, immersive space where people can experience and train Future Spirit year-round. A space that makes the future something you can actually walk into. | 2️⃣ Inner Space A Room for Future Spirit doesn’t necessarily have to be built of walls and windows. It also lives inside each of us - in the mental and emotional space we make for curiosity, empathy, optimism, or courage. This inner room can be opened with small rituals: a pause to breathe, a question that challenges assumptions, or a symbol that sparks imagination. It’s the space we carry everywhere, ready to be expanded at any moment. |
ONE EXPERIMENT
Create your own “future space” in 3 minutes!
Step 1: Find a small spot (a table, a corner, a page in your notebook).
Step 2: Remove everything that doesn’t inspire the future.
Step 3: Place one symbol for the future (for example: a Post-it with a question, or an object that reminds you of curiosity).
You’ll be surprised how even a small corner dedicated to the future can shift your mindstate - reminding you that creating space for Future Spirit isn’t about square feet or waiting for others to offer solutions, but about perspective and action.
Would you mind telling me what your space for future spirit looked like? Do you have any ideas about what we should definitely include in our space, which is actually being built? Be sure to write to me here: [email protected]; I'd be very grateful and very excited!
